29/09/2026 | Press Releases & Announcements

Athens, September 29, 2026 – EKTER released its semiannual financial report for the period from 01.01.2026 to 30.06.2026, which has been prepared based on the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

During the first half of 2026, EKTER continued its growth trajectory, recording a significant increase in turnover, further expansion of its backlog and strong operating cash flows. At the same time, the Company further strengthened its position in the Greek construction market, with the award of the Class 7 contractor license in July 2026, marking its entry into a new phase of growth.

  • Consolidated turnover €59.6mn (+42.4%)
  • Group gross profit €7.7mn (+6.3%)
  • Consolidated EBITDA €6.5mn
  • Consolidated net profit after tax €3.5mn
  • Group operating cash flows €11.3mn (+75.8%)
  • Cash and cash equivalents €19.7mn – Positive net cash position €7.3mn
  • Backlog €258.7mn (as of September 27, 2026)
  • Award of Class 7 contractor license
  • Positive opinion by the Plenary Session of the Council of State on the Special Urban Plan (SUP) in “Kolymbithres” area in Paros

Consolidated turnover in the first half of 2026 amounted to €59.6mn compared to €41.9mn in the corresponding period of 2025, representing an increase of 42.4%. The increase was primarily driven by the accelerated execution of existing construction contracts, by the timely completion of projects, as well as by the commencement of new major projects. Particularly noteworthy was the significant increase in turnover from private-sector projects, which reached €29.4mn and accounted for 49.3% of total revenue compared with just €2.9mn or 7.0% in the corresponding period of the previous year.

During the first half of 2026, EKTER continued to secure and execute major public and private-sector projects, including:

  • The Panathinaikos sports facilities in Eleonas, budget €34.0mn.
  • The Marina Residences by Kengo Kuma residential complex at The Ellinikon, budget €30.3mn.
  • ANT1’s new offices and production studio building, budget €25.5mn.
  • The bioclimatic swimming complex of the Ampelokipi–Menemeni Municipality, budget €24.5mn.
  • The E.E.E.E.K. special school of Chios, budget €8.2mn.
  • The Kalamata International Airport upgrade project.

After the end of the reporting period, the Company also signed the contract for the continuation and completion of the building facilities of the Medical School of the Democritus University of Thrace, with a budget of €8.8mn, while the second amendment to the contract for the Infinity, Six Senses Porto Heli project increased the project’s total contractual consideration to €101.1mn.

As of June 30, 2026, the backlog stood at €206.4mn, up by 79.5% compared to €115.0mn as of December 31, 2025 and €100.0mn as of December 31, 2024. As of September 27, 2026, EKTER’s share of signed contracts amounted to €258.7mn, providing strong visibility on future revenues. Private-sector projects accounted for 79.8% of backlog while public-sector projects represented the remaining 20.2%.

At the same time, the Company maintained a high level of tendering activity, participating during the first half of 2026 in 31 project tenders with a total budget of €605.0mn. By September 27, 2026, EKTER had participated in 54 tenders with an aggregate budget of approximately €1.0bn.

Consolidated gross profit amounted to €7.7mn compared to €7.2mn in the first half of 2025, representing an increase of 6.3%, while the gross profit margin stood at 12.8% compared to 17.2% in the corresponding period of 2025. The gross profit margin was mainly affected by two factors: first, the revision of projects’ costs, reflecting increased geopolitical tensions, so as to incorporate higher costs for materials and other inputs; and second, the project mix, as a significant number of large-scale projects are currently at an early stage of execution, where margins are lower and are expected to improve gradually as the projects progress.

As a consequence of the above:

  • Consolidated EBITDA amounted to €6.5mn compared to €7.1mn in the first half of 2025, with EBITDA margin standing at 10.8%.
  • Group profit before tax amounted to €5.2mn compared to €6.0mn in the corresponding period of 2025.
  • Group profit after tax amounted to €3.5mn compared to €4.5mn in the first half of 2025.

Operating profitability primarily reflects the change in the gross profit margin, as well as the increase in administrative expenses, which is associated with the expansion of the Company’s support functions and the costs related to undertaking and managing a higher volume of projects.

The Group’s financial position remained robust during the first half of 2026, supported by strong cash generation and a further improvement in liquidity. Net operating cash flows increased by 75.8% to €11.3mn compared to €6.5mn in the first half of 2025. Cash and cash equivalents rose to €19.7mn as of June 30, 2026 from €12.4mn as of December 31, 2025, while total borrowings declined by approximately €0.2mn to €12.4mn. As a result, the Group maintained a positive net cash position of approximately €7.3mn. Group equity stood at €56.2mn versus €55.7mn as of December 31, 2025.

On July 15, 2026, EKTER was ranked in the 7th Class of the Register of Public Works Contractors, the highest classification within the Register. The award of the Class 7 contractor license represents a key milestone in the Company’s growth trajectory, materially expanding its addressable market by enabling participation in significantly higher budget projects and strengthening EKTER’s positioning in large scale joint ventures.

Moreover, EKTER continues to execute its business model diversification strategy. In the hospitality segment, turnover of Summer Senses Luxury Resort in Paros increased to €1.13mn in the first half of 2026 from €1.08mn in the corresponding period of 2025. Given the pronounced seasonality of the hotel sector, the majority of the resort’s annual revenue and profitability is expected to be reflected in the full-year financial statements. For the 2026 season, the hotel is expected to generate turnover of approximately €4.80mn compared to €4.26mn in FY 2025.

In parallel, pursuant to Processing Minutes No. 68/2026 issued by the Plenary Session of the Council of State, the draft Presidential Decree approving the Special Urban Plan in “Kolymbithres” area, Municipal Community of Naoussa, Municipality of Paros, on a company-owned property with a total area of 328,000 sq.m., was found to have been lawfully proposed. This positive opinion represents a landmark in the project’s permitting process. The development has a total budget of €53.3mn with funding already secured through a combination of Recovery and Resilience Facility resources, bank financing and equity participation.

In the PPP segment, EKTER participates through a joint venture in the project for the design, construction, financing and technical management of five new Police Headquarters facilities, with a total project budget of €57.0mn and is currently awaiting the formal invitation to proceed with the contract’s signing.

In the Real Estate segment, the Company is moving forward with the development of its new, wholly owned headquarters, a project expected to enhance operational autonomy and reduce long-term operational expenses.

Management maintains a positive outlook for 2026, despite continued geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainty and ongoing inflationary pressures on construction costs. Robust revenue growth, a significantly increased backlog, the award of the Class 7 contractor license, solid liquidity and the expansion of the Group’s activities into complementary business sectors provide a solid foundation for further growth.  Management is closely monitoring developments and remains focused on selective project origination, prioritizing contracts with attractive characteristics, on preserving a strong financial position and on gradually expanding in activities capable of generating long-term and recurring cash flows.
